Ans-The postmaster comes to know that Lencho was in a great trouble. He also wants to help Lencho so that he could sow his cornfield again. Ans-Lencho thinks that the rest of the money has been taken out by the post office employees. According to him, God could never make a mistake. There is an irony here. Lencho never expected that human beings could help him. But opposite happens. Human beings, that is the post office employees, helped him. They collected money. But they were able to collect seventy pesos only whereas Lencho demanded hundred pesos. For Lencho, a man can only take but God only gives. Irony arose when the opposite happened.

Q.5. Are there people like Lencho in the real world ? What kind of a person would you say he is? You may select appropriate words from the box to answer the question.

Ans-Yes, there are several people like Lencho in the real world. Many people have blind faith in God. They fast, go to temples and talk to God for several hours. They try to get their things done through or by the help of God. Even today, we begin our work with a God’s name. But Lencho has an excess faith. He starts correspondence with God for charity of hundred pesos. His belief is blind. For him, God has capability to help him. He is very simple to understand that we can never correspond with God by letter. Lencho is naive or simple in nature.

He writes a letter to God for help. But he is not greedy. He only demands hundred pesos which are necessary to sow the field again. WHe may find Lencho comical because as people in the post office receive letter, they begin to laugh. He has written ‘God’ at the place of address. Lencho is not ungrateful. He does not know who has sent him money. He believes that God has sent him money. Lencho is stupid in a way, he shows his anger quickly and allegates the post office people for stealing thirty pesos in his another letter to God.

Q.6. There are two kinds of conflict in the story : between humans and nature, and between humans themselves. How are these conflicts illustrated ?

कहानी में दो प्रकार के चंद हैं-मनुष्यों और प्रकृति के बीच तथा स्वयं मनुष्यों के बीच । इन द्वंदों का कैसे चित्रण किया गया है ?

Ans-There are two conflicts given in the story. The first is between man and nature. Lencho is a man. He works very hard, sow his fields. When they are ripen and ready for harvest, hailstones destroy them which is nature. Another part of nature is God whom Lencho believes a lot. He believes that God would help him. So he writes a letter to God. Next conflict is between human themselves. A man can never help the other man. Lencho believes God but not a man. For him, God can never make a mistake. Lencho knows that God must have sent a hundred pesos and only the post office employees were crooks who took out thirty pesos from the envelope.jac board
