His First Flight Q&A, Answer
When I learned how to swim
I remember what problems I faced when I learnt swimming. I feared the village pond greatly. I felt like running off the scene. But when I saw children of my age swimming, I felt to be like them. I was seven then. So one day I descended in the pool in the presence of my father. He held me with my back. The water was four or five feet deep. Fear gripped me. But somehow I moved my hands and legs just around my father. I saw that I could swim. But very soon I caught my father. He asked me to do that again. I did. But another boy hit me from below. I was scared that it could be a grave danger. But my friend popped out his head. I felt relieved. Other children laughed at my inability to swim then. But very soon I began swimming after practising it again and again.
